New Delhi : Two Nigerian nationals were arrested in the capital for running a contraband racket and 120 grams of cocaine were seized from them, police said Wednesday.
The police got the breakthrough after they apprehended Shobhan Mittal, a businessman, with two grams of cocaine near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium area in south Delhi Tuesday.
During interrogation, Mittal revealed that he had bought the drugs for his own consumption from a Nigerian, Akanbi Olamilekan Mohemmed, 35.
“Akanbi Olamilekan Mohemmed was nabbed with 10 grams of cocaine from Saket. After that, Mohemmed Owolabi Adigun, 56, was arrested with 110 grams cocaine,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Arun Kampani said.
“They used to sell drugs to customers at private parties, bars and night clubs in Delhi,” said Kampani.
Mohemmed Owolabi Adigun, an architect, was pursuing his textile business in Nigeria before coming to India in 2007 on a business visa. His visa had expired in 2009.
Akanbi Olamilekan Mohemmed came to Delhi from Lagos Nigeria in February, 2011 on business visa.
