Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind to hold a convention on Muslim issues in Gujarat

Ahmadabad: To discuss the problems and issues related to Muslims in Indian, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind will be organizing a conference in Ahmadabad on April, 17th.

Leaders of Jamiat Ulama Hind are touring different places of Gujarat to gather the support and invite people.

On the tour to Rajkot, Gujarat, Hakimuddin Qasmi, Secretary General of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, one of the leading Muslim organizations, while talking to the reporters said, “Jamiat Ulama existed in India before the Independence and has a legacy of struggle against British imperialism.”

He also mentioned, “Jamiat has always opposed the partition of India in the name of religion.”

Informing about the Conference he said, “After hard and tedious work, government appointed commissions like Sachar and Rangnath Misra commission has submitted their reports and recommendations about the status of Muslims but nothing has happened.”

He further added, “Political parties are sitting on the report and therefore Jamiat has decided to start a movement against government apathy and this conference in Gujarat is one such attempt where we are expecting thousands of Muslims and other peace loving people.”

Answering a question about the Muslims in Gujarat he replied logically that, “Indian Muslims are better and safer than any other part of the world.”

As far as Gujarat is concerned he accepted the fact, “Many innocent Muslims were jailed in Godhra case, who were set free by the court after 9 long years.”

Talking generally about Indian he said, “80 percent Indians are peace loving and secular, it’s only remaining people who are corrupting the system.”

Murari bapu, was also invited but is busy but Mahesh Bhatt, Syed Sirajuddin Moin of Ajmer Sharif Dargah, Justice Rajinder Sachar, Swami Agnivesh, and Dr.Aziz Burney, editor of Sahara urdu are the other invited guests.

Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind was formed in 1919 and has 7 lakhs members in Gujarat, whereas all over India membership of Jamiat is nearly 2 crore.
