Udaipur (Rajasthan) : The police at this picturesque city have launched an investigation into a man’s allegation that he was refused entry into a five-star hotel because he was wearing slippers and jeans.
Kanhaiya Lal Sanwariya has filed a complaint under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, against Hotel Lake Palace.
He has alleged that the hotel authorities prevented him from having his lunch with his foreign guests Monday. He was also prevented from boarding the boat to take him to the hotel.
“I gave all my credentials to the manager, but he stopped me from going with the tourists because I was wearing slippers and jeans,” Sanwariya, a Dalit activist, added.
