Patna : The Indian Institute of Technology-Patna (IIT-Patna) has initiated moves to establish collaboration with premier universities in the US for student and faculty exchange programmes.
According to Bihar Foundation, the single window system of the state government to interact with non-resident Biharis around the world, IIT-Patna director Anil Bhowmick is on a visit to the US to attract talented research scholars to join IIT-Patna as faculty members.
Bihar Foundation’s West Coast Chapter is assisting Bhowmick in the endeavour.
“Anil Bhowmick is holding meetings with high-level officials from premier academic institutes like University of California Berkeley, Stanford University, and University of California at Davis,” Bihar Foundation’s chairman Ravi Verma told IANS over phone.
Verma added that Bhowmick is also setting up partnerships with premier US institutions for exchange at the level of students and faculty members.
“Under this partnership arrangement, selected faculty members from IIT-Patna will work with a peer faculty member at UC Berkeley or Stanford University. As collaborators, they will exchange research ideas and teaching methods. The partnership will also facilitate visits by California academicians to Patna and vice versa,” Verma said.
