Chennai : Seamer Dominic Joseph Muthuswamy claimed four wickets for 53 runs and helped Maharashtra beat Mumbai by 152 runs in the semi-finals of the All-India Buchi Babu cricket tournament here Saturday.
In the two-day final to be played from Monday, Maharashtra will take on Kerala who came through against Hyderabad on the spin of the coin after their semi-final was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to wet ground conditions.
Chasing Maharashtra’s total of 379 for nine, Mumbai were never really in the frame after the early loss of opener Swapnil Salvi in the seventh over.
Despite some useful contribution from Kaustubh Pawar (43), Siddharth Chitnis (46) and Onkar Gaurav (37), the target proved beyond Mumbai as Muthuswamy struck some telling blows.
