Lahore : Pakistan police has sealed off Imran Khan’s cancer hospital to track the cricketer-turned politician after he evaded arrest following imposition of emergency in the country.
Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital was cordoned off Friday as Khan went into hiding Nov 4, a day after police placed him under house arrest, The News reported Saturday quoting a police official.
“We are looking for him because we have orders to detain him under the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO),” the official said. Khan’s house has also been cordoned off.
The former captain of Pakistan cricket team founded the hospital in memory of his mother who died of cancer.
Khan said in a statement from an unknown place said he was in contact with other opposition leaders.
He has been demanding reinstatement of deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and release of all detained judges.
“We will continue our struggle,” he told Geo television. “We are also preparing our strategy to launch a civil disobedience movement against Musharraf and we will not let him sit in peace,” he said.
