“On a tip off, a Special Task Force (STF) team tracked down these terrorists who were travelling in a Santro car with a Uttar Pradesh registration number. Around 5.30 a.m., when the STF sleuths intercepted the vehicle, the occupants opened fire. However, our cops managed to overpower and arrest them,” Uttar Pradesh police chief Vikram Singh told IANS.

“Two AK-47 assault rifles along with 120 rounds of ammunition, three imported pistols, four kg of RDX along with five detonators and 16 grenades were recovered from them,” Singh said.

Though the men were carrying documents suggesting that they belong to Kashmir, STF Superintendent of Police Amitabh Yash said: “They are faking as neither their looks nor their speech suggests Kashmiri origins.”
