Rio De Janeiro : Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff said Wednesday that the international financial crisis was not caused by a money shortage, but by improper political decisions.
“The crisis is definitely not a result of money shortage. They all have money. It is a result of political decisions which were not taken in a definitive manner,” she said.
The president said the US debt crisis was a result of irresolute decisions caused by political struggle between the Democrats and the Republicans, which she was was “too destructive”, reported Xinhua.
Rousseff believes that in Brazil, the government and the opposition share a more mature partnership.
“Here we don’t see practices that we see in some countries, including some of the world’s leading countries, in which the opposition and the government don’t pay attention to the nation’s best interests but create a never-ending political struggle,” she said.
