Bijapur (Chhattisgarh) : A jawan of the Chhattisgarh Police was killed while his colleague sustained serious injury Tuesday when they stepped on a pressure bomb planted by outlawed Maoists, police said.
The incident took place in Bijapur district in statea’s restive Bastar region, more than 440 km south of Raipur.
The deceased constable has been identified as Dhan Singh Thakur while his injured colleague is Hemla Dhasru who was admitted to a local hospital.
The blast took place at a helipad area in district headquarters, Bijapur.
