Three border villagers arrested with Pak SIMs

Jammu : Three people were arrested with Pakistani mobile SIM cards in the frontier district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir near the India-Pakistan border, police said.

They said the trio from Saujian village near the Line of Control (LOC) with Pakistan were travelling in a taxi, which was stopped for checking at Kalai, about 250 km from Jammu.

During frisking of the passengers, Mumtaz Ahmad, Azam Khan and Ghulam Mohi-ud-din were found having a Pakistani SIM card each.

They were arrested immediately.

According to police, the SIM cards are of Zong mobile company of Pakistan. “We are investigating how the three got these SIM cards,” said the sources.

Earlier, Pakistani SIM cards were recovered from people who provide logistic support and help to militant groups across Jammu region.
