NTPC signs power purchase agreement for Mauda project

New Delhi : The government-run power major National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Saturday signed an agreement with Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board (CSEB) for supply of power from its Mauda thermal power project.

The agreement was signed between NTPC Executive Director (Commercial) I.J. Kapoor and V.K. Jain, CSEB member for transmission and distribution. NTPC Director (commercial) R.S. Sharma and CSEB Chairman Rajib Ranjan were also present.

The 2X500 MW Mauda super thermal power project will be set up in the Nagpur district of Maharashtra.

NTPC, which expects to commission this envisaged capacity by 2011, recently awarded the main plant package supply contract to Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) for Rs.20 billion.
