The revelation comes as the Conservative Party suffers its lowest ebb since David Cameron became leader in 2005 and will place more pressure on calls for a change of leadership. At least 25 of the 148 Tory MPs newly elected in 2010 have either taken steps to look for a new job or are “updating their CVs”, Daily Express reported..

Nearly all the MPs in question were headhunted by Central Office to stand for parliament and “have little allegiance to the party at its core”, said a senior source.

Most occupy marginal seats and “just do not see victory in the offing, certainly while David Cameron remains leader”, added the source.

A last week poll, commissioned by Tory backer Lord Ashcroft, cautioned Labour Party would trounce the Tories with a majority of 109 if General Elections were held tomorrow.
