Patna: Rajya Sabha MP and senior leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal(RJD) Mr. Motur Rahman died of heart attack at his residence in East Champaran district on Tuesday.
Mr. Rehman was 61 years old and was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2005. He is survived by his wife Rukhsana Khatun, two sons and four daughters.
Born on October 2nd, 1946 in Sapahi in East Champaran district of Bihar he did his BA and B. Ed. from Bihar University, Muzaffarpur.
He was up-mukhiya (vice-village chief) for his village from 1970 to 1977. in 1980 he entered Biihar Assemby on Congress tickets. He joined RJD in 2001 and since 2005 he was member of Rajya Sabha. In his very short stint in the Rajya Sabha he has raised 258 questions on various topics.
Mr. Rehman was national general secretary and spokesman of Lalu Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal.
