Agra: The National level Conference of Sarvodaya Samaj was held at Agra from 23-25th October. The conference was inaugurated by well-known Islamic Scholar Moulana Wahiduddin Khan and initiated by Senior most Gandhians Dr. S.N Subharao, Smt. Radha Bhatt and Prem Singh.
Organisations like Ektha Parishad, Sarvodaya Mandal, Harijan Sewak Sangh and Khudai Khidmatgar took part in the conference. The conference was organised in the backdrop of the communal tensions in western Uttar Pradesh and focussed on the issues of promoting communal harmony, peace building, environmental protection and promoting the Gandhian values throughout the country.
Khudai Khidmatgar Secretary Inamul Hasan while addressing the conference elaborated on its importance of providing contacts to people from various walks of life and those coming from different regions and religions.
He urged, “Every Hindu brothers and sisters who are attending this conference must make at least one non-Hindu friends, and Muslims with Hindus and Christians or with Sikhs, Jains, or Buddhists.”
Over thousand people from different faiths had gathered for five days.
