Puducherry : The top six finishers at the ongoing 58th National Basketball championships will take part in the inaugural National Basketball League to be played in October, BFI Secretary General Harish Sharma announced here Thursday.
Though the format is yet to decided, the league will be conducted for one month at two or three venues. The teams can field guest players, Indian or overseas.
Sharma also said, “ESPN has agreed in principal to telecast the matches, but we are open to other broadcasters as well.”
The BFI also intends to start a league for women, but only after seeing the results of the men’s league.
