Mumbai : A key Indian stock market index shed 120 points on the back of profit booking and weak global cues.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) closed 120.10 points or 0.59 percent down at 20,345.20, against the previous close of 20,465.30 points.
The broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed flat at 6,178.55 points, after hitting a record high of 6,230.15 Thursday afternoon, against the previous close of 6,179.40 points.
The overall market breadth was negative with losers outnumbering gainers by a ratio of 2:1. The BSE turnover crossed Rs.105-billion mark Thursday.
