He was responding to the allegation made by Samajwadi Party (SP) that there are tussles within Rashtriya Ulama Council about Maulana Madni’s contesting from Azamgarh. He said that theirs is a political community where there is no opposition about this democratic decision. The claims of Samajwadi Party are just due to their dirty politics and conspiracy, which they are using through media to put people in illusions. He criticized the Sunni Ulama Council (SUC) of Samajwadi party saying that it is mere show off by including people who are not even aalim-e-deen (scholar of religion), but are sycophants supporting Mulayam Singh. Citing the portrayal by SUC of being religious by wearing topi (Skull cap), he said that a political game is being played by SP. It is faking that Rashtriya Ulama Council has been divided in two, which Khan totally refuses.

Khan proclaimed that Rashtriya Ulama Council has no relation whatsoever with the SUC. Such portrayal is the consequence of Mulayam Singh’s party’s being frustrated and their insecurity on Maulana’s contesting in opposition to SP. He reiterated that the people of Azamgarh were supporting Rashtriya Ulama Council’s decision and their Lok Sabha candidate too which will be easily proved when he visits to Azamgarh on 2nd April which will showcase the enthusiasm of the people supporting him.
