Assam MLA Zaved Islam who was also present during the meeting rued at the non implementation of the funds meant for the welfare of minority communities. “Funds related to many government schemes for the welfare of the minority communities remain unutilized and ultimately returned to the centre as the schemes’ allocations got lapsed at the end of the financial year”, Islam said. Ashiq Zaman, a civil servant and founder member of MY-FACTS, apprised the members about the latest organizational position and issues that need to be addressed by the organization. He also stressed upon the need for publication of a journal so that the message and activities of MY-FACTS could reach a larger section of the community, spread over the nooks and corners of the State. Another founder member of MY-FACTS, Rezwan Hussain, stated that the organization could not take up a number of programmes that were planned, due to paucity of funds. To address this issue, a sub-committee was constituted to draw up a road map for mobilizing resources and streamline the accounts and finances of MY-FACTS. The first meeting of the committee is scheduled to be held on April 6, 2014.

Anisul Hoque, one of the leading brand conceptualisers of the State, delivered a treatise on the latest concept of ‘Brand creation & Brand management’, and volunteered to work for brand management of the organisation and creation of a logo and tagline for it. He even suggested that they should start planning to print its own wall calendar for 2015 and through this reach the homes of its target groups and well wishers across the State. Sofiul Islam Khan, a lecturer of history at a city college and also a founding member of the organisation, informed that little was done to activate the Bagh Hazarika Memorial Cultural Complex since its formation a few months ago. It was resolved to hold a meeting of the Governing Body of the Complex in May to implement the resolutions adopted earlier.

In her presidential address, Tanishi Inam urged upon the members to take up a few socially relevant activities such as storytelling, debating and extempore, speech competitions for skill development among the youth on one hand, and to let MY-FACTS bond with the community on a larger scale, on the other. She emphasised “Our ultimate goal should be all round and inclusive growth of the society, without injustice to any community”
