Bombs exploded Thursday near the embassies of Egypt and the UAE in Tripoli, causing material damage but no casualties.

Like many other countries, both Egypt and the UAE have pulled diplomatic staff out of the Libyan capital amid fighting between armed factions in Tripoli.

Libya has witnessed escalating violence since the 2011 turmoil that toppled the country’s former leader Muammar Gaddafi.
