Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor today met the Union Home Minister, Mr Rajnath Singh and apprised him of the issues related to the current situation in the University.
During the meeting, Prof Mansoor clarified that the ongoing students protest in AMU has nothing to do with Jinnah’s Portrait and students are protesting in support of their demands including a judical probe into the incident and the action against those who barged into the campus.
He also apprised him of the efforts being made by the District and University administration to resolve the issue.
Prof Mansoor has also requested him to help in the recruitment of AMU students from engineering, diploma in engineering and other academic backgrounds in the para-military services of the Central Government.
The Home Minister has assured AMU Vice Chancellor of all help from the Central Government in restoring normalcy in the University.
