Haryana makes computer learning mandatory for its cops

Chandigarh : The Haryana police Thursday announced that computer education would be mandatory for all fresh recruits joining the state police force.

The move comes after all police station sin the state were linked through computer-aided wide area network (WAN).

Director General of Police Ranjiv Dalal said: “All police stations in the state have been interlinked with wide area network (WAN). In order to make the police stations modern and hi-tech, nearly 475 computers have already been installed and the process of installing about 140 computers in various police stations is in the pipeline.”

He said that besides improving their technological skills, the police personnel should ensure that common people felt safe in the state.
