Religious leaders of different faith join Christmas celebrations

Relegious leaders of Islam, Jain, Buddhist, Hindu and Christian faith attended the Mass at CNI Wesleyan church at Sudder Street today on the occasion of Christmas festival.

Later a meeting for global peace was also held at Sir Syed Ahmed Road, Kolkata jointly organised by All faith forum and Mother Teresa Memorial Peace Committee .
The meeting was presided by Mr. Idris Ali ( Honble Member of Parliament and the chairman of above mentioned organisation .

Mr Idris Ali greeted the Christian Community and then all the members gathered there prayed for global peace on the occasion of Christmas day .M.A.Ali (General Secretary of All India Minority forum) said religious intolerance is growing these days as a result of which Christians have been targeted and their churches have been vandalised by some Hindutva fanatics. This attempt to divide the people on religious lines will not work and this celebration of Christmas by people from different faiths is an example that everyone loves peace and want to live in harmony.

Cakes and other sweet were distributed to the poor out side St.Teresa of Avila church Moulali.
