Israeli FM warns Israel against non-compliance with Annapolis principles

Vienna : Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Palestinian National Authority Riyad al-Maliki that there was an international consensus represented in the Annapolis and Paris Donors conferences that underlines the need to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and to allow the establishment of a Palestinian state.

The Austrian press agency qouted the Palestinian Foreign Minister as expressing regret at the non-compliance of Israel with what was agreed upon during the Annapolis Conference, pointing in particular to the continued expansion of settlements.

He warned Israel against continuing its occupation of Palestinian territories and said that this will eventually lead to the disappearance of the vision of two states.

He said: “If Israel wants to obtain recognition of the Arab and Islamic worlds, it must abide by what had been agree upon at this conference and agree with us as well.” The Palestinian official called on the international community to initiate steps to push forward negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians, warning Israel against continuing occupation of Palestinian territories.
