NEW DELHI, Feb. 8 (APP): China has lodged protest with India over Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s assertion that Arunachal Pradesh belongs to India.
China has conveyed to New Delhi “it was not proper to make such comments at a time when the two countries were engaged in talks over the boundary question, media reports quoting sources here said.
The Indian Prime Minister during his visit to Aruachal Prades last week had said Arunachal was “our land of rising sun.”
China has declared that Arunachal belongs to China. China had refused to grant visas to Indian officers of Arunachal Pradesh who wanted to visit China last year.
China and India are engaged in holding talks to resolve boundary issues.
Indian Prime Minister had recently visited China and held talks with the Chinese leadership to resolve outstanding issues between them including boundary issues.
