The diesel Chevrolet Optra would be available within the price range of Rs.874,000 with the top-end going up to Rs.999,000.

"GM (General Motors) has been able to achieve robust growth even as the industry is undergoing a slowdown. This year we are aiming to sell 66,000 units as compared to 38,800 last year," Anisha Motwani, director (marketing), GM India, told reporters at a press conference here.

Motwani also said the company is receiving huge response for its recently launched small car Chevrolet Spark and hopes to achieve healthy growth.

The company, which has already launched a CNG (compressed natural gas) version of Optra, is also planning to launch CNG range in its sedan Chevrolet Aveo, officials said.
