Beijing : China declared on Monday it is deeply concerned over the unilateral declaration of independence by the Serbian province of Kosovo.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao affirmed that step will negatively influenced on peace and stability in the Balkans, as well as on the aspiration to establish a multi-ethnic society in Kosovo.
China urges Serbia and Kosovo to keep looking for an adequate solution through negotiations in line with international law, and to jointly preserve security and stability in the Balkans, he sustained.
According to Chinese authorities, the international community must create favourable conditions for that.
Liu Jianchao noted the solution to the Kosovo issue is crucial for peace and stability in the Balkan region, and is linked to basic international relations laws, and the role of the UN Security Council.
