“Lebanon is not an internal problem, it is a dangerous regional problem,” Moussa said in a speech to the Arab-South American Foreign Ministerial meetings Wednesday.

Moussa has visited Beirut several times and is expected to pay a similar visit to the country later in the week in another effort to bring about an agreement over Lebanon’s presidency crisis.

Earlier, Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al-Faisal made a similar warning, saying that efforts must be doubled to salvage Lebanon from “outside powers” that are trying to destablize Lebanon.

Moussa, tackling other Middle Eastern issues in his speech, accused Israel of exercising “bad policies” against the Palestinians.

He said the Gaza siege is the best example of Israel’s “bad” policies, saying lifting the siege remains the key to solving the Gaza problem.

He warned that the US-sponsored Annapolis conference, which brought together Israeli and Palestinian leaders to launch good intent peace negotiations, is threatened to collapse, saying all negotiations that proceeded at the Annapolise conference are not fruitful.
