Bangladesh Army Chief arrives in Indian capital

NEW DELHI, Feb 25 (APP): Bangladesh Army Chief General Moeen U Ahmed held military level talks with his Indian counterpart General Deepak Kapoor followed by delegation-level parleys here on Monday.
Earlier, in a brief interaction with newsmen here on his arrival Moeen U Ahmed said “I propose to usher in a new era of close cooperation between the two armies. “

The six horses, two pure bred stallions and four mares, were handed over by Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor to Ahmed.

General Ahmed, during his visit, would call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Defence Minister A K Antony and National Security Advisor M K Narayanan.

Media reports suggest this is the first time that the two countries have held military-level talks, in which issues like “North-Eastern militant groups operating in Bangladesh and migration of Bangladeshi nationals to India figured.”
