Agartala : Tribal militants of the outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) have kidnapped six traders, the police said here Wednesday.
A group of about 12 NLFT militants abducted six traders Tuesday while they were returning from a weekly market at Fuldongsai, 145 km north of here, a police spokesperson said.
“The traders were in a truck when the militants stopped the vehicle and kidnapped them at gunpoint,” he said.
The militants later took the captives to a jungle hideout.
The police, who have started a hunt for the abducted men, suspect that the militants kidnapped the traders for ransom.
