Riyadh : A Saudi Iraqi team has started search at graveyards in North Eastern Saudi cities for remains of Iraqis buried in Saudi Arabia territories during Kuwait liberation war 1991, it was reported here Wednesday.
Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Thursday that the search, under the supervision of the International Red Cross, started last Sunday, targeting the recovery of 64 remains based on official estimates.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia handed over the remains of 59 Iraqis buried in Saudi territories to Iraqi authorities.
Once the current 54 remains were recovered, the file of Iraqis buried in Saudi Arabia during Kuwait liberation war 1991 would be closed, official sources said.
