Speaking to the media after the second day’s play here Thursday, Sehwag opined that the pitch could afford turn as the match progresses and that batting on the fifth day will present a challenge.

“The pitch, from batting point of view, is true with good bounce. I thought South Africans batted well, especially Hashim Amla who has improved a lot since we last saw him. The heat and humidity too got to us,” he said in summation.

Sehwag backed his opening partner Wasim Jaffer saying: “Jaffer is always capable of a big score. He has a double hundred to his name and I thought he played very well today.”
