Bhubaneswar : A bear attacked a group of villagers and killed five of them, besides injuring five others, in Orissa’s Nabrangpur district, an official said Wednesday.
The bear, believed to have come from the near by forest, reached close to a cashew plantation area near Tengadaguda village, some 640 kms from here Tuesday night. The animal attacked the people when they were on their way to witness a drama presentation, a district administrative official told IANS.
While four people died on the spot, another died later in the hospital, he said.
A police party rushed to the spot and killed the bear, he said.
