Haj Committee of India criticized for Hajis’ problems

Patna: Deputy Leader of JD (U) in Bihar Legislative Council and member of Bihar State Haj Committee, Prof. Aslam Azad, has demanded central government to dissolve Haj Committee of India (HCI).

In In a press statement issued on 13th May, Azad said thousands of pilgrims are facing mental as well as physical problems due to HCI’s lenience and improper functioning. He also sought a high level enquiry in its functioning. He demanded immediate steps to provide proper facilities to the pilgrims. He raised the issue of discrimination with the pilgrims of Bihar. He said arrangement for stay of hajis is its responsibility but the committee is not rendering it as required. He alleged that HCI has cheated on pilgrims in allocation of first and second class shelters. He alleged that the central haj committee has used unfair means in arrangement of shelters and transportation of the pilgrims.
