The two countries are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Emirates Palace Sunday, it said.

Hanif Hassan, UAE minister of education, has welcomed the current initiatives between the two countries. Hassan will head the UAE delegation.

He said: “We have excellent relations with the US in establishing academic programmes and developing the English language and other subjects (in the UAE).”

“We regularly organise visits to the US so that our school principals and supervisors could acquaint themselves with their educational system.”

He said the ministry is in the process of developing a strategic plan to develop curriculum and infrastructure.

Spellings is expected to visit the Al Mawaheb Model School in Abu Dhabi during her visit here to acquaint herself with the education system in the country.
