Kabul : Britain lost one man and two were injured when their vehicle hit a road-side bomb in north Sangin, Helmand, south Afghanistan, raising British fatalities to 97 since the invasion began in 2001.
British military sources said the blast occurred as the troops returned to their base from different operations in Musa Waleh. The wounded were ferried to Camp Bastion for urgent medical aid.
A release from the Pentagon in Kabul says that, among other incidents, two members of the US-led coalition and two Afghan policemen died in separate events, one in active duty in Farah province, east, where two Afghani soldiers died in clashes with rebels.
The other foreign soldier, whose nationality was not revealed, died of wounds received when he was crushed by the wheel of a truck he was repairing, says the International Security Assistance Force.
Most troops deployed in Farah are from the US.
