The court decided to delay the trial till July 9, since Mohammad Barham, the defendant, was not admitted to the National Institute for Psychiatric Medicine (NIPM) for mental evaluation, a judicial source said.

Barham is charged of terrorist acts in connection with the stabbing of a 63-year-old German tourist in downtown Amman on March 14.

In early May, Barham’s lawyer provided the court with a report indicating that Barham had a history of mental illness. The SSC decided to refer the defendant to the NIPM for evaluation.
