Baghdad : The Iraqi Government decried on Saturday the operations carried out by the US Army resulting in four people killed and one arrested, according to an official communique released by Nina news agency.

The note issued by the office of Prime Minister Nuri al Maliki said both attacks were in violation of Iraqi law and sovereignty and urged the US command to bring people responsible before justice.

In an incident Friday, a US helicopter landed in an area in Kerbala province, in southern Iraq, shooting an Iraqi and arresting another in an operation lacking coordination with local authorities, which are in charge of security in the area.

Another such operation was carried out Thursday in the Baghdad international airport, where three employees were killed in a US operation.

These incidents prove the impunity with which US-led occupation troops act, with a thick record of crimes and violations of all kinds against the Iraqi civil population since the very first day of the US-led invasion and occupation of the Arab country in March 2003.

The Iraqi Government condemnation comes as Washington and Baghdad are preparing an agreement to try to perpetuate the US military presence, sparking resentments in different sectors which consider the pact violates Iraqi sovereignty and independence, as it calls for giving a permanent status to over 50 military bases and granting legal immunity to troops and contractors operating in the country, according to British press reports.
