London : Exhausted Wimbledon semi-finalist Novak Djokovic will slice his schedule in an attempt to regain fitness after an exhausting six month-rise into the top five players in the world.
"I'm going to play just one tournament here in Europe, in Umag on clay, then I'm going to go to Montreal, Canada, Cincinnati and then the US Open," he explained.After shooting into the elite only a few months ago through nearly non-stop tournament success, the youngster is taking advice to throttle back, picking his shots with more care to conserve energy and maximise results.
"I'm going to try to reduce my tournaments as much as I can because I've played a lot, really a lot of matches," he said after completing his 14th event in six months and lifting three titles.
"I've had a really difficult season, with no rest basically in six, seven months. I didn't have four or five days off.
"Over the next seven to ten days, I'll try to recover as much as I can."
