The Hague : The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) asked the court Monday to issue an international arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir.
Luis Moreno-Ocampo made the request as he presented new evidence on war crimes in Western Sudan’s Darfaur region.
If the court agrees to the request, it will mark the first time the ICC has brought charges against a sitting head of state.
