EU to fight terror alongside India

New Delhi : The 27-nation European Union (EU) Sunday condemned “unacceptable” terrorist attacks in Bangalore and Ahmedabad and underlined its solidarity in fighting jointly with India the scourge of terrorism.

“The Presidency of the Council of the European Union has learnt with consternation the terrorist attacks perpetrated in Bangalore and Ahmedabad on July 25 and 26,” a declaration by the presidency of the European Union said here.

“It presents its deepest condolences to India, its government and its people, as well as to the victims and their families,” said the declaration, which was released by the French embassy here.

France currently holds the rotating presidency of the EU.

“It reaffirms its will to fight the scourge of terrorism alongside India,” it added.

A day after serial blasts rocked Bangalore, India’s IT hub, serial bombings ravaged Ahmedabad Saturday that killed 45 people.
