New Delhi: Member of Parliament and president of Republican Party of India, Ramdas Athawale said each state should have a university on the pattern of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Talking to the press, he said that he has raised this demand in the Parliament several times.
Ramdas Athawale further said proper law should be framed to give 10% reservation to Muslims in all departments of life.
Demanding the restoration of the minority character of JMI, he announced to make it an electoral issue in his manifesto. He said it has become necessary after Sachar Committee report to give special privileges to Muslims, especially in the field of education.
Responding to a question, he said he would launch a Dalit-Muslim Minorities Forum and contest all 70 seats in Delhi.
