Hamburg : India’s Sania Mirza has moved two slots up to 63rd position as Ana Ivanovic regains her number one singles position in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings Monday.
Sania, who has been going through an indifferent form following surgery to her right wrist soon after the Australian Open in January, has moved from 65 to 63 from 19 Tour events. She has, however, remained at number 27 in the doubles, playing in 13 events.
Ivanovic replaced fellow Serb Jelena Janokovic, who enjoyed just one week as number one.
Ivanovic had led the rankings since June 9, after her victory at the French Open, where she defeated Jankovic in the semi-finals.
