Srinagar : Political Affairs Committee of Peoples Democratic Party will meet here on Tuesday to finalise the name of party candidate for the coveted post of Jammu and Kashmir Chairman Legislative Council.
Sources within the party circles told News Agency of Kashmir that the owing to a consensus between the coalition alliance the party candidate would get full support from Congress in the election, which is to be held on July 20.
It was reliably learnt that the party has decided name Gulam Nabi Lone (Hanjoora) to be nominated as the party candidate for the post. However, the final decision in this regard would be taken on Tuesday when the political affairs committee of the party will meet under the chairmanship of PDP chief patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
Another coalition alliance Congress is not expected to field its candidate, while the opposition National Conference is yet to decide whether to contest the election or not.
