More heavy rains heading towards Orissa

Bhubaneswar : Heavy to very heavy rain could occur over parts of Orissa Saturday and fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea, the met office here said Friday.

The rain would be due to a fresh low pressure area forming over northwest Bay of Bengal off the Orissa coast Friday morning, S.K. Dastidar, met official, told IANS.

Under its influence, rain or thundershowers are likely over coastal Orissa and a few places in the interior of the state, he said.

Since June, several parts of the state have witnessed floods triggered by heavy rains. About 50 people were killed and over two million affected by the floods.
