“This is like a confidence building measure for the company. Buyers can pay the price of maintenance cost at the time of purchase or even in monthly instalments,” said Rajeev Chaba, president and managing director GM.

As per the scheme, buyers can pay Rs.12,999 ($325) for Spark, Rs.14,999 ($375) for Aveo U-VA, Rs.15,999 ($400) for Aveo, Rs.17,999 ($450) for Optra Magnum (petrol) or a SRV and Rs.26,999 ($675) for the diesel version of Optra Magnum for a period of three years as maintenance cost.

If a customer doesn’t choose to pay the amount early and pays on his own to the dealer and if the amount increases later for the respective models, GM will return the extra amount paid once the company is informed by the buyer.

The scheme covers everything except special items such as repairs due to accidents, external damage, damage from natural disasters, tyres, batteries and accessories.

“This programme stems from the confidence we have in our world-class products and this initiative will also set a benchmark and a milestone in the industry. It took six to eight months for us to make this programme,” said Chaba.

“We have really brought down the maintenance cost of our cars. The package is on the basis of current cost. And I think this scheme will ensure that our customers enjoy the most pleasant ownership experience,” he added.

GM also launched a new version of sedan Aveo and said they would launch a sports-utility vehicle Captiva at the end of this year.

“The launch of new Chevrolet Aveo is a testament to the importance that GM India attaches to maximising customer satisfaction,” Chaba added.
