Cocaine seized, three peddlers arrested in Delhi

New Delhi : Three alleged drug peddlers were arrested in two separate raids in the capital and cocaine worth Rs.3.25 million was recovered from them, police said Saturday.

Officials of the Delhi Police Narcotics Cell arrested Rajiv Sharma and his accomplice Yogpreet Friday from Lajpat Nagar in south Delhi.

While Sharma, manager in a pharmaceutical company, was arrested with 12 gm of cocaine, eight gm of the drug was recovered from Yogpreet, a postgraduate from Singapore University.

"They were arrested on a tip-off. We are ascertaining the source of the contraband and their customers in the city," said Deputy Commissioner of Police A.S Cheema.

Meanwhile, police caught the third accused, Sameer, near the DND flyover that links Delhi with Noida in adjoining Uttar Pradesh.

Sameer hails from Jammu and Kashmir and around 35 gm of cocaine was seized from him, police said.

"During interrogations, he revealed that he had brought the drugs to supply a party hosted at Noida's Elevate discotheque," Cheema said.

"His links and customers in the city are being probed," the official added.
