Trissur (Kerala) : Bangalore-based Sobha Developers Limited (SDL) Saturday announced the launch of its first integrated township, Sobha City, in Trissur, known as the cultural capital of Kerala.
SDL chairman P.N.C. Menon told reporters here that the project, the company's biggest so far, would come up on a 55-acre plot of land and would have three million square feet built area.
"Sobha City will be built around a 6.5 acre of man-made lake and will comprise a fine balance between residential – 78 percent of the area – and the commercial buildings and would cost Rs.850 crore. The project would be ready by May 2011," said Menon who also has business interests in Oman.
The township would have 25 villas and 423 three-bedroom and 216 four-bedroom apartments.
A world-class business hotel with six floors reserved for corporate offices would be another highlight of the scheme.
The project is designed by SDL itself, which has the ISO 9001 (2000 series) certification for adhering to global standards in quality. Its shares are listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange.
