New Delhi : One person was killed and at least 17 workers, including 12 women, sustained critical burn injuries when a boiler exploded in a pickle factory here, police said.
The accident occurred Friday night when the leaking boiler exploded in west Delhi's Uttam Nagar area.
The injured were rushed to a hospital where one person succumbed to his injuries. The other victims are under treatment, a police official said. Around 300 workers were in the factory when the accident occurred.
Police have registered a case of laxity against the factory owner. Assistant Commissioner of Police Ombir Singh said the factory owner would be arrested soon.
