New Delhi: India’s longest running commission has been given its 42nd extension. This time Liberhan Commission has been extended till Dec. 31st, 2007. It is reported that the report of the inquiry commission is ready but due to Gujarat elections, Congress thought it best to delay it till after the elections.
Liberhan Commission set up days after the destruction of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on Dec. 6th, 1992 was to submit its report with three months. 42 extensions have given it 15 years and have cost India more than 60 million rupees.
