New Delhi : Railway Minister Lalu Prasad escaped unhurt after a special train in which he was travelling to Bihar caught fire Saturday.
Railway officials here said the ‘MR (Minister for Railways) Special’ carrying Lalu Prasad was proceeding from Dehri on Sone to Patna when some smoke and sparking was noticed in an air-conditioned compartment carrying his staff members. The train was then approaching the Rafiganj railway station in Bihar.
The fire was immediately put out and that coach as well as the rest of the train was inspected for safety.
No one was injured in the incident, the officials said, adding that the train soon resumed its journey to Patna.
